Australian Gold Coast

australia.edu has hand picked the top things to experience while visiting the breathtaking Gold Coast.

1. Amazing view from Q1.

Q1 is one of the tallest residential buildings in the world and attracts thousands of local and international travelers to experience a view that is sensational. From the 78th floor you can see down the Gold Coast as well as the Gold Coast hills. Looking into the ocean, you might be able to spot a school of game fish feeding on top water mackerel.

2. Walking Dawn parade.

Wake up early and enjoy a walk on the sandy highway located along the sandy beaches of the gold coast. It is best to wake up early and enjoy a walk or jog while stopping midway to take in the morning sunrise over the ocean water.

3. The local secret sandwich.

Fresh Crab sandwiches in the Gold Coast are among the best in the world. You can find the local crab sandwich while walking at the kiosk at the end of the spit. If you can't find them just go up to a local and ask them to point you in the right direction.

4. All day Pac Fair Shopping.

Hundreds of energized shoppers are dropped off by bus or car to shop the day away at the weekly Pac Fair. Pac Fair is spread across a few acres and is filled with hundred of retail and wholesale bargains. Remember to always try and negotiate the price before checking out.

5. GO! GO! GO!

Betting on the horse races is one of the most exciting events in town. Every Saturday afternoon the horse races take place at the Gold Coast Turf Club, Bundall. If you're 18 or over you can place a bet and cheer on your lucky horse while enjoying an ice cold Australian beer. If you can't make it out to the track, you can still place a bet at your hotel if they are displaying the "Pub Tab" sign. Good luck!
